It’s not time to worry about Panthers QB Cam Newton just yet, according to Scott Fowler

Charlotte Observer columnist Scott Fowler answered a few questions from fans in his mailbag today, and one that stood out to me was on the topic of Cam Newton’s recovery from shoulder surgery. Fans have been divided on how freaked out we’re supposed to be since Newton stopped participating in live drills last week, so I felt it was a good idea to get another take on the subject for us to discuss.

Here’s the question, followed by Fowler’s answer, below:

Q. Is it time to hit the panic button on Cam Newton’s shoulder?

A. Absolutely not. However, this question pre-supposes that such a button exists, and it does. It is hidden deep in the Carolina locker room, under a grate in the cold tub.
